Completed for the Académie de recherche et d'enseignement supérieur (ARES)

The general objective of this project was to contribute to strengthening the country's capacity in the management and prevention of natural hazards in the fields of hydrology and river and sediment hydraulics. The specific objective was to train the Rural Engineering team of the Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine in Port au Prince in the evaluation and modeling of flood risks in all their technical and operational dimensions through a partnership with the UCLouvain and ULB. This evaluation was conducted between May and June 2019. It concludes to the high success of the project. It was found to be well designed with strong involvement of all stakeholders and to have fulfilled its main objective. Although not all results could be achieved, they were deemed very promising for a future follow-up phase of the RDP.
